I’m Matthew. I’m a software engineer by day and 3D printing obsessive by night. Working on machines — printers, computers, motorcycles — is what I love.

Back in 2022, I got my first 3D printer, an AnkerMake M5, and got hooked pretty fast. Now I spend time building mods for my printers, helping people solve print issues, and learning how to push these machines harder. I’ve uploaded designs to Printables and Thangs, and am active in the various printing Discords. I love the community and collaboration there.

I build practical stuff. workshop solutions, organizers, planters, 3d printer mods — things that solve real problems, or at least attempt to!

A meme is actually part of the reason for our shop’s name. A couple years ago, we came across an Instagram video of a chinchilla who gets told that he’s “built like a baked bean” (if you’re extremely online like we are, you might have heard that soundbite being used in other videos). We’ve been quoting that clip at each other ever since. So when it came time to name our shop, we thought, why not? Plus, we live in Chicago, which famously has “The Bean” sculpture (aka “Cloud Gate”). And now all our products are built BY BakedBean.
