The short version

FitCheck works entirely on your device and collects nothing by default. We have no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party tracking.

There is one optional exception: if you choose to turn on anonymous calibration sharing, the app sends us anonymous machine-tolerance measurements to help improve FitCheck. It is off unless you enable it, contains nothing that identifies you, and you can turn it off or delete what you've shared at any time.

Information we collect

By default, none. We do not ask for your name, email, location, contacts, or any other personal information, and the app does not create a user account. The only data FitCheck ever sends off your device is the optional, anonymous calibration sharing described in "Optional calibration data sharing" below — and only if you turn it on.

Data stored on your device

FitCheck saves the following only on your device (via your device's local storage) so the app is useful between sessions. This data never leaves your device and is not visible to us:

• Saved machines and their measured calibration offsets

• Saved/favorite fasteners and any custom fasteners you define

• Your FitCheck Pro unlock status

• App preferences

Deleting the app removes all of this data.

Optional calibration data sharing

FitCheck works fully offline and collects nothing by default. If you turn on Share calibration data (off by default), the app shares the calibrations of the machines you've already saved, and then sends us one anonymous record each time you save or recalibrate a machine. This helps us build machine-accuracy reference data so future versions can suggest a good starting calibration for hardware like yours.

A shared record contains:

• The machine type (3D printer, CNC mill, lathe) and — if you've set them — the printer model, nozzle size, and material, as plain labels.

• The dimensional error values you measured during calibration.

• The app version and the date you calibrated the machine, and the time the record was sent.

• A random ID created on your device the first time you share, used only to recognize repeat submissions from the same app install. It is not your name, email, account, or advertising ID, and it is not linked to your identity.

• A marker recording that you turned sharing on when the record was sent.

A shared record never contains the nickname you gave the machine, anything you looked up in the app, your location, your contacts, or any advertising identifier. We do not sell shared data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Data is sent over an encrypted connection. Our server, like any web server, sees the network address a request comes from; we do not store it with your record or use it to identify you. Shared records are stored for us by our cloud hosting provider (Google Cloud) on servers in the United States, and we keep them until you delete them.

You can stop sharing at any time by turning the setting off — the app then sends nothing further. You can also delete everything you've shared at any time: Settings → Data sharing → Delete my shared data. The random ID lives only on your device, so if you plan to delete the app, use Delete my shared data first — without that ID we can't find your records to remove them.

Purchases

FitCheck Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or store your payment details. Those platforms handle the transaction under their own privacy policies:

After a successful purchase we store only a simple on-device flag recording that Pro is unlocked. Use Restore Purchases to re-enable Pro on a new device.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

We use no advertising and no third-party tracking. There are no advertising identifiers, no ad networks, and no third-party trackers or data brokers in FitCheck. The only data the app ever transmits is the optional, anonymous calibration sharing described above, sent to us over an encrypted connection and only if you turn it on — never to advertisers, and never used to track you across other apps or websites.

Third-party services

FitCheck's fastener data ships inside the app; normal use requires no network connection. The app contacts a server operated by us only to deliver an anonymous calibration record, and only if you have turned on calibration sharing. That server is hosted on Google Cloud (United States).

Children's privacy

FitCheck is a reference tool for makers and machinists and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your Rights

By default we receive no data about you at all. If you turn on calibration sharing, the records we receive contain no name, email, or account, only measurements and a random install ID we have no way to tie to you.

Because of that, we generally can't look up "your" data by who you are, but the app can. Please make sure to delete your data before uninstalling the app if that is something you want to do, or else we will have no way to know what data is yours. Once you hit delete, we delete everything on our end, end of story.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and its "Last updated" date, and — where the law requires — ask for your consent before any new data is collected.
